However, for some reason many people just don't do the things they know they have to do to be successful and finish their projects, work or tasks. What we know for sure, is that procrastination is the thief of time, if you don't control it you are wasting time.

There are many reason why people avoid doing things, sometimes it seems strange why even knowing what they have to do to be successful they don't do it. There is people with so much talent and abilities that never accomplish anything because they get sidetracked by the lack of focus and waste of time.

When you are procrastinating you are losing precious time that you will never get back. There are so many things that you can do to have a better life. If you have financial problems but you make good use of your time you can increase your earnings. If you are a student you should get done your homework right away so later you can do other things that you like.

But how can you stop procrastination? it depends in each person, some people are just frustrated and think that they don't have the abilities and talent to accomplish a complex task so they make excuses to postpone the work.

If you want to get rid of this problem, the first thing that you have to do is, make a plan and schedule of what you want to accomplish each day and in how much time. You need to set deadlines every day and follow your schedule at all costs.

Make a list of the most important things that you have to do and do it. If you keep thinking in unimportant things that you want to do, just make 20 minute deadlines. Focus on your work for 20 minutes without distraction and then take a small rest, then continue for another 20 minutes.

This way you can keep track of how much you are moving forward every hour and every day, when you start seeing some important improvements and accomplishments, you will get motivated to get more done without losing time on irrelevant tasks.

Preventing Procrastination Activity

One of the most difficult things to overcome is procrastination, everyone at some point have to deal with it and can be very frustrating. When you are procrastinating you are delaying the things or tasks that you should be doing for later and most of the times later never comes.

However, although most people have procrastination at some point, people that are successful at what they do overcome it, they have strong goals that they have to accomplish and no matter in how good or bad mood they are, they will do what they have to do under any circumstances.
But how do you overcome procrastination?
Lets see some things that you can do to avoid procrastination and start achieving your goals.
First ask your self why are you avoiding doing your work?
is there something that is worrying you, do you have an emotional problem with someone, are you sabotaging your self.

Once you know those answers you need to resolve those if possible or forget about them and do at this moment what you have to do. It might not seem simple, but we have to deal with problems every day of our life and they are not going to disappear, so you have to learn to dedicate a certain amount of time to your work, without thinking or worrying about what is going to happen with the other problems.

Set a deadline to accomplish a task, set how much time you are going to work every day and how many hours are you going to dedicate to each task. For example, if you have to write 10 articles a day, make sure you don’t do anything else until you have dedicated 3 hours to those articles or whatever amount of time you require.

The most important point to overcome procrastination is to begin. Write down what tasks you must get done today and at what time you are going to begin. When the time comes, start doing your task, it doesn’t matter if you have everything in place or how much there is, you just have to start, even if you are not doing it good.

Reward your self once you have accomplished a task. For example, if finished your 10 articles, stand up and take a drink or snack, then comeback and do the next tasks until you finish it.

Those are some important point to overcome procrastination, you need to find you true motivation and set specific deadlines and goals to accomplish every day, if you don't have a plan, you are planing to fail.
